Featured Images – Required in some WordPress Themes

A featured image helps to display content, mood or theme of a post or page.  A post or page can have only one featured image.  Some WordPress themes use a featured image to enhance presentation of the site to featured blog posts, create a slide show header and other functions.

Setting Featured Image
In the post or page editor, locate the Featured Image module on the right side, could be on left side.  Click on the Set Featured Image and select the image you want to feature.  Now, click the Set Featured Image in the Media Library and update your blog post. 

No Image Header  – If you theme does not have an image header option, you might need to feature an image on your home page.  Learn more about featured images.
